CoFonderie privacy policy

CoFonderie is a program of V1 Studio, a non-profit organization based in Montreal, Quebec. V1 Studio is committed to the privacy and security of personal information under the standards set by Quebec's Law 25. This policy explains how we collect, use, process, protect and share the personal information collected on the CoFonderie website.

Compliance with Law 25

Transparency: we provide clear information about the collection, processing and purpose of the personal information we handle, so you know your rights and our practices.

Accountability: a designated person in charge of the protection of personal information oversees our data protection strategy and handles any privacy-related inquiry.

Data minimization: we limit collection to the personal information strictly necessary for the services provided.

Security: we deploy security measures, including encryption, access control and continuous monitoring, to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure or loss.

Information we collect and how we use it

"Register interest" form: first name, last name, email address and, if you choose to share it, your background. We use this information to let you know when CoFonderie applications open and, with your consent, to email you about the program. You can unsubscribe or withdraw your consent at any time.

Emails: information you send us by email is used to respond to your inquiry.

Browsing data: we analyze website traffic (pages visited, interactions) to improve the site's content and the visitor experience.

Hosting and web analytics: the site is hosted by Squarespace. Data, including your IP address, is stored by Squarespace on servers located in the United States and elsewhere.

Data retention, security and integrity

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes identified or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

Our data protection measures are designed to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data. They are reviewed and updated regularly.

Access to personal information

By V1 Studio staff: information collected through the form or by email is stored by V1 Studio. Only staff members who need it as part of their duties have access to it: employees responsible for the CoFonderie program, communications staff, and the people in charge of the protection of personal information.

By certain service providers: when necessary, some information may be disclosed to service providers, including Squarespace (website hosting and form storage). These providers only have access to the information required to provide their services. They are prohibited from using it for any other purpose or disclosing it.

Your rights

You are entitled to access, correct, delete or port your information, object to its processing and withdraw your consent, in line with Law 25.

Automated decision-making: if we use automated decision-making systems, we clearly describe their scope, purpose and implications for your data.

Transfers outside Quebec

If data must be transferred outside Quebec, V1 Studio ensures the transfer complies with Law 25 and that strict safeguards maintain equivalent protection.

Confidentiality incidents

In line with Law 25, we have mechanisms in place to detect, report and address confidentiality incidents, and to notify affected individuals and regulators promptly.

This policy is reviewed periodically to reflect changes in legislation, operations or technology. Significant changes will be communicated to you.
